     STACEY SOBEL is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Criminal Law Practice Center at Western State University College of Law and has held lecturer positions at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and George Washington University Law School.

     Her publications include The Mythology of a Human Rights Leader: How the United States Failed Sexual Minorities at and Abroad in the Harvard Human Rights Journal.

     She is the former Executive Director of Equality Advocates Pennsylvania (2001-2008). Prior to joining Equality Advocates, she was the legal director of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network. Ms. Sobel has been invited to share her expertise with many groups, including the White House, members of Congress, the Department of Defense, attorneys and universities.

     Ms. Sobel received her BA, cum laude, from the University at Albany, State University of New York and her JD from the George Washington University where she was a Dean’s Fellow.
