TONY BLAIR was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from May 1997 until June 2007.
He is currently working in the Middle East as Quartet Representative, helping the Palestinians to prepare for statehood as part of the international community’s effort to secure peace. Tony Blair continues to advocate on issues involving Africa and climate change. He works on governance projects in Rwanda and Sierra Leone, advising President Kagame and President Koroma respectively on policy delivery and attracting investment, with a team of his staff working full-time with both countries.
Having been the first major head of government to bring climate change to the top of the international political agenda at the Gleneagles G8 summit in 2005, Mr. Blair is now leading the Breaking the Climate Deadlock Initiative, through which he is working with world leaders to bring consensus on a new and comprehensive international climate policy framework.
He has launched the Tony Blair Faith Foundation www.tonyblairfaithfoundation.org to promote respect and understanding between the major religions and to make the case for faith as a force for good in the modern world.
